Finishing

In all formats of printing, finishing refers to value-added to operations that are performed after the ink has been applied to the materials. Some finishing operations can occur before the printing comes off the press (inline), but many finishing operations are performed after the printing comes off the press (offline).

Print finishing happens in all areas of printing from just the basic trimming, folding, die cutting to more complex finishing in digital cutting, foiling, even as much as hand work where machines are just not geared enough by their limitations.
